Your responsibilities:

  • You review and assess the current state of the art regarding stress cracking in polymers, providing a solid foundation for the project.
  • You independently plan and conduct injection molding trials with various MOCOM compounds to gain practical insights.
  • You initiate, coordinate, and analyze the relevant material and component tests necessary for a comprehensive evaluation.
  • You validate a suitable testing method that can reliably evaluate stresses in lighting components.
  • You prepare a detailed final report in which you analyze causes, identify critical influencing factors, and develop concrete suggestions for failure prevention.
  • You present your results to the team, making a direct contribution to the further development of our materials and applications.

Your profile:

  • You are an enrolled Bachelor’s or Master’s student in engineering, ideally in mechanical engineering, plastics engineering or materials science.
  • The position can also be completed as part of a practical semester or a thesis (Bachelor/Master).
  • You have basic knowledge of plastics, their properties, and processing technologies.
  • You work very independently, in a structured and goal-oriented manner, and enjoy finding well-founded solutions to technical questions.
  • You are a team player, enjoy working on projects and at interfaces with other departments, and impress with your trustworthy manner and initiative.
  • You are proficient in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Very good English skills, both written and spoken, complete your profile.
